Xander

Hey there! I’m Xander, a Princeton University undergrad in the linguistics department. I love literature and language, and I hope to make a career in the publishing industry. I’m currently a part of an editing team for French dictionaries, and I’m also working on my own bilingual poetry book. My strongest subjects to tutor are English and Language Arts, writing, grammar, reading comprehension, and French. I love plants, biking, reading, tv and animation, music and musical theater, and I’m fairly invested in pop culture. I enjoy being a tutor because I know exactly what it’s like to struggle asking for help — having ADHD, anxiety, and depression often means that I find myself lost in academic settings and that I easily fall behind in the classroom. I know exactly how difficult finding your own pace can be as a student, and that’s what I want to help with. I believe that it’s incredibly important to approach one’s education from a perspective of self-empowerment and growth rather than a means of comparing oneself to one’s peers, which is something that I struggled to adhere to for years of my youth. One step at a time — we’re in this together!
