Teraysa

I am currently a Middle School Science Teacher at a selective, private preparatory school in the area. I teach Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science in grades 6-8. Prior to teaching in the Middle School, I taught Environmental Science, Marine Biology, and Ecology. Aside from teaching, I also coach the Varsity Field Hockey and Softball teams.

I have been a tutor since I was in college, and have worked with students of all ages. Although I was a Science major, I worked very closely with a student majoring in Business as well as students taking high school math and biology.

Tutoring is a very enriching experience for me, as it allows for the fostering of student learning in a more controlled manner than in my classroom. I pride myself on meeting students where they are in order to make sure I am addressing his or her personal needs. It is a practice of mine to draw parallels between the content we are covering and a topic of interest for the student to help draw connections that will enrich the student's understanding of the material.
