I have been a violinist since the age of 4 and have had a passion for music for most of my life. I have had experience mentoring young violinists, and I find that tutoring students academically is similar in many regards. When helping people master material that is unfamiliar or difficult for them, I think it’s important to make sure they are engaging thoughtfully in order to process the information completely before attempting to take a test, or play a concert. I try to keep my students engaged when tutoring, having worked with students with attention problems in the past, and find it crucial that the student is actively participating in sessions. I really enjoy tutoring because it is great to help someone achieve a deeper understanding and as a result perform at a higher level.
