Sophia

Sophia has been tutoring and mentoring students for over ten years, with a focus on subject tutoring, standardized test preparation, and college essay support. She has experience assisting students in the college application process, serving as a thought partner throughout the entire application cycle – from brainstorming topics to the final essay review.

Sophia scored a 2370 on the SAT, 800s on the Math Level 2, Chemistry, and Literature SAT II Subject Tests, and 5s on a variety of Advanced Placement tests. She completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, where she majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and minored in Public Policy and Global Health Policy. She also graduated with honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Business Administration.

Sophia’s passion is to get to know her students in order to personalize her approach to their specific learning styles. She is approachable and empathetic, seeking to bring out the best in her students and support them in each of their individual goals.

Sophia is available to tutor for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT standardized tests. She can also provide subject-specific tutoring in writing and composition, literature and language arts, arithmetic, geometry, algebra, biology, chemistry, and European history.
