Hi, I’m Sadie, here for all your college essay, reading/writing, and ACT needs! I’m a Columbia University graduate now pursuing my Master’s at Columbia. My focus in undergrad and grad school is writing—I’ve won writing awards, tutored reading and writing, and written for magazines while at Columbia. I work with students of all ages and have a lot of experience with college essay tutoring. My goal is to support families and students through the difficult admissions process.
My focus in college essay tutoring is helping students develop a narrative essay. Instead of simply listing off accolades and extracurriculars, I encourage students to tell their authentic stories. What they’ve overcome, how they’ve developed as people and students, and how they will contribute to a collegiate community. I’ve supported my college essay students with applications to the following schools (to name a few): Princeton, Yale, UPenn, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, University of Michigan, Chapel Hill, Purdue, Georgetown, and Northeastern.
In high school I started a tutoring/mentorship program that supported younger students in my school who were struggling in reading or math and paired them with a high school mentor. As a tutor for Princeton Tutoring/PrepMaven, I bring this same level of mentorship as someone who’s been through the process of competitive admissions, studied for the ACT, and supported kids just learning how to read and write.
For the ACT, I tutor English and Reading, on both of which I scored 36. I’m also here to help prepare for other subjects, like literature, writing, or reading tests.
Outside of tutoring, I love exploring New York City, collecting vinyl, reading, surfing, and skiing. I’ve also studied French for four years and enjoy traveling to practice my language skills.
