Nadia

Hello! My name is Nadia, and I have extensive experience tutoring students across various subjects, specializing in mathematics, physics, computer science, and test prep (SAT). I’ve worked with students from middle school through college and focus on helping students build a strong foundation in core concepts so they can confidently tackle increasingly advanced material. I love to tutor because I am passionate about creating an engaging environment where students feel safe asking questions and learning from their mistakes, the same environment that transformed my confidence in my own abilities in high school. I strongly believe that every student is capable of complex problem solving and I prioritize catering my tutoring to match the unique learning style of the student.

I graduated summa cum laude and Sigma Xi from Scripps College with a degree in Astrophysics and minor in Dance. I am now pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and aspire to design the scientific instruments that help us learn more about our universe! As a Brooke Owens Fellow, I’ve interned in the Space Algorithms and Technologies Branch of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, designing and building devices to detect and take measurements of rocket launches. I’ve also had experience in Biophysics and Observation Cosmology labs as a research assistant at the Claremont Colleges Keck Science Department and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Outside of academics, I am an avid reader of fiction, a contemporary and classical ballet dancer with the Civic Ballet of San Luis Obispo, an indoor plant collector, and an amateur baker. I also love to travel and got to study Tango in Argentina during my semester abroad in undergrad!
