Mike

Mike is a PhD candidate studying English literature at Duke University, where he writes mostly about contemporary fiction and film. Before that, he majored in English and Economics at Rutgers University and spent a year teaching English at a high school in the South of France. Mike has been tutoring test prep (SAT/ACT) since 2016 (after taking the SAT and scoring a 2340), and has always been passionate about helping other students understand the test and reach their score goals. Nearly all of Mike’s test prep students score in the top 5% of test takers, and he has coached multiple students to perfect scores on the SAT and ACT. Mike also works with a select number of students each year to guide them through the college admissions process and help them craft compelling application essays. His students routinely earn admission into their top-choice schools, including Harvard, Brown, and Dartmouth. In addition, Mike coaches law school admissions and helps college students with LSAT prep, having scored in the top 1% on the exam when he was (briefly) considering going to law school himself. Even in the current world of hyper-competitive admissions, Mike is extremely proud to have seen his students accepted into the top law schools in the country, including Harvard, Yale, and Columbia Law. In his spare time, Mike loves hiking, travel, and writing fiction.
