Lochlan

Hello! My name is Lochlan, and I am a graduate of Columbia University, where I studied Environmental Biology, Ecology, and Evolution. During my undergrad, I conducted extensive laboratory research and produced a first-author publication in the journal Genetics (Oxford Academic). I am from rural Washington State and spend most of my free time outside—backpacking, biking, climbing, and playing spikeball on the beach.

I am primarily a test-prep tutor, specializing in the SAT and AP Biology exams. I well remember the pressure of standardized testing and college entrance, and it is incredibly rewarding to guide others through this process. Having worked with SAT students with ADHD and time accommodations, I develop specific study strategies—including intentional breaks and timed practice—to help students achieve significantly improved scores. I bring excitement for the subject matter, an ability to tailor my lessons and explanations to the individual learning needs of students, and mastery of effective test preparation and test-taking strategies.
