I am a passionate, driven educator who brings together a strong academic background with a lifelong dedication to athletics. I love tutoring because it allows me to combine two things I value deeply: helping students develop confidence in their abilities, and supporting them as whole people with unique strengths, challenges, and learning styles. The subjects I teach include History, English, test prep (SAT/ACT), and Math.

Academically, I completed both my BA in Classics & History and my MA in History at Johns Hopkins University, and studied abroad at the University of Cambridge. I’ve held research and archival positions across several humanities departments, published scholarly work, and presented my research at national and international conferences.

Alongside that work, I’ve taught students across age groups, from mentoring middle and high schoolers in Baltimore, to supporting first-year university students as a Teaching Assistant, to teaching Math & English/Reading to a combined 5th–6th grade classroom. These roles sharpened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt lessons to individual needs, and foster an encouraging learning environment.

A significant part of who I am comes from my athletic journey. I’ve been a runner since childhood and competed as a varsity Track & Field athlete at Johns Hopkins. During that time, I helped lead community initiatives through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and co-founded youth running programs in Baltimore that focused on building confidence, discipline, and joy through movement. Sport has always been one of the most meaningful ways I’ve connected with my community.

After graduating, I transitioned from competitive running to rowing. Learning an entirely new sport as an adult athlete has been both humbling and energizing; it’s deepened my empathy for students who are stepping outside their comfort zones. Rowing has reinforced the importance of patience, incremental progress, and showing up consistently, principles I emphasize in my tutoring, as well.

Across all these experiences, I bring strong communication skills, disciplined organization, and a genuine joy in helping students grow academically and personally. I love supporting students not only in mastering material, but also in discovering their own confidence along the way.
