Heidi

I first got involved with tutoring younger students in my freshman year of high school, when I started working with the kids at the school across the street from mine. Week after week, talking with my bilingual fifth grade students was often the highlight of my day. Watching them gain confidence in their English, while still hearing them joke around in Spanish, and seeing how proud this made them became a surprisingly transformative part of my high school experience.

That being said, I love PT's approach of guiding mentorship, rather than simple "homework help." I want to focus on fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills in all the students I take on. I'm confident that as long as each of them comes in ready to learn, we can work together to set him or her up for long-term success.
