Grace

Hi! I’m Grace, an undergraduate student at Columbia University studying Financial Economics.

I discovered a passion for education in eighth grade after designing my own literature classes for kids during the pandemic. Since then, I have taught SAT Prep, history, writing (including college essays), English as a second language, and literature (which will always be my favorite). Over the past five years, I have gained extensive experience both independently through my own learning center and by tutoring with organizations such as the Salvation Army in Oakland Chinatown and Teach for America.

My goal in tutoring is to help students become more confident and passionate about the subjects they learn–I personally benefitted from tutors who showed me that I could succeed at any subject so long as I put the work in and knew when to ask for help. I’m excited to return the favor–I love tutoring because of the close relationship I can develop with my students and hope to make a meaningful impact on their lives.

In my free time, I enjoy composing music, playing piano, taking photos, and exploring New York City’s parks. Originally from California, I also enjoy journaling, skiing, hiking, acappella, playing with my three cats, and reading.
