Emily

Hello! I graduated from Princeton with a degree in Chemistry and certificates in Applied & Computational Math, Applications of Computing, and Materials Science & Engineering. I am currently pursuing a PhD at Cornell in computer science, focusing on algorithms and theory of computation. I have enjoyed tutoring my peers and younger students since high school, during which I tutored AP and honors chemistry, precalculus, middle school language arts, and college essay writing. Throughout my time at Princeton and now in graduate school at Cornell, I have continued to develop these teaching skills by serving as a teaching assistant for several math, chemistry, and computer science courses. I employ a combination of active learning strategies to encourage students to engage with material in ways that are tailored to their own individual learning styles. In my free time, I enjoy dance (I grew up training in classical ballet), running, crafting, and cooking. I look forward to working with you and your student!
