Elisa

Hello, I’m Elisa! I graduated from Princeton with coursework in policy, history, and education, and since then have gained hands-on teaching experience.

During my year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Latvia I worked with students from ages 5th grade-University level in traditional classroom settings, small group English clubs, and individual SAT tutoring. I spent the year developing communication methods and teaching strategies that met the diverse cultural and linguistic needs of my students. I am committed to being flexible in my tutoring practice and finding the methods most effective for individual students.

I continued my teacher education through the Princeton Teacher Prep Program (TPP), through which I gained my teaching license in Social Studies. I have studied pedagogical techniques and observed and analyzed over two dozen teachers in action. My teaching experience includes high school World History and AP U.S. Government.

I am excited to work with students in English (including essay writing, text analysis, reading comprehension, and creative writing), the Social Sciences (including U.S. History, World History, U.S. Government, Politics, Economics, and Psychology), and SAT/ACT Test Prep. I am also prepared to guide my students in developing the study and testing skills they need to feel confident and calm under demanding school and testing environments.

I am a passionate learner myself and look forward to getting to know you, your strengths, and your goals!
