Courtney

I am the most ardent about teaching anything related to words: grammar, vocabulary, paragraph structure. I have been published in multiple volumes of poetry, and something I wrote during freshman year is currently cataloged in the Steinbeck Institute in Salinas, California.

I have a wide range of interests, which include books and ephemera, hiking, cave exploration, minerals and geology, extreme sports, astrophysical sciences (though I am hardly advanced enough in mathematics to fully appreciate all of its intricacies), travel, zoology, and sports. It is not possible to explore every potential career path, so I’m aiming for one which will combine the two things I love most, which, for reference, are words and biology: journalism for National Geographic or a similar publication. I would especially enjoy being a photojournalist and writing on the side, perhaps short stories or poetry.

I have been to London, Paris and Rome and briefly explored the architectural styles found therein. More recently, I went to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico to go spelunking and to study some of the minerals and interesting geologic formations that exist there.
