Christan

Growing up, my mom (a math teacher) instilled in me the importance of education, and it has stuck in my desire to become a professor and my interest in educational policy. I tested my enthusiasm for education as an intern with Breakthrough Miami teaching rising 5th graders of disadvantaged backgrounds and learned that I loved education even more. I like tutoring not just because I enjoy conveying interest subject matter but also because it is an opportunity to positively impact a students’ studying habits and thinking skills and set them up for future years of success.

I have the most experience teaching mathematics, from elementary school math to statistics and pre-calculus. I also enjoy tutoring history, my prospective major at Princeton, government, Spanish, geography, music theory, and college exams like the SAT and ACT!

Outside of education, I’m interested in issues related to the LGBT and Latinx communities and work as a contributing copy editor for The Daily Princetonian. I also love animals, Jeopardy, and bike rides. I look forward to serving as a mentor to tutees and offering guidance at any point in their academic careers.
