I am a geologist with an Earth Science degree from Columbia University. My research has spanned Venus’ tectonics to Earth’s volcanic and magma systems. I taught students at the university level as both an undergraduate and graduate teaching assistant and have mentored students into scientific research opportunities.
I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring students at various levels. In high school, I was a tutor for K–12 math, science, and social studies, where I demonstrated measurable student growth through improved coursework grades and exam scores. In college, I was hired as a teaching assistant for four courses in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and consistently received high student feedback for my guidance and clarification of lab instruction. During my final year at Washington University as a graduate-level research and teaching assistant, I taught individual class topics, graded assignments, and provided detailed feedback and personalized teaching strategies to help students achieve their learning objectives.
I like both STEM and the humanities equally, and I am passionate about scientific translation and writing. I consider my undergraduate experience a perfect combination of liberal arts and the sciences. The subjects I tutor include math, science, Spanish (I am a native Spanish speaker), and writing/humanities.
I’m originally from Southern California and have lived in New York, London, and now St. Louis. I enjoy light jogs, curating music playlists, shopping for vinyl records, and traveling as much as possible.
