My tutoring career began during high school when I took a course on violin pedagogy and went on to start my own studio. However, it was through two summer trips during college teaching English in rural China that I really found myself drawn to academic teaching. Upon returning to campus, I began tutoring Chinese and music theory through Princeton’s residential college tutoring program.

I spent my first year out of college completing an editorial fellowship with The Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong, followed by a stint writing in the Taiwanese mountains. I’ve since returned to Chicago and resumed tutoring. While my hope is to build a career in the writing world, tutoring in all subjects remains a passion. I enjoy helping others communicate more smoothly, whether in another language or on the page, and it is always a joy to be able to tailor a curriculum around a specific student's needs. I also appreciate the perspective new learners bring to any subject, as it challenges me to take a fresh look at long-accepted ideas or concepts.
