I have always enjoyed working with children and adolescents in an educational setting because I value the importance of developing critical thinking and study skills early-on, while cultivating a genuine curiosity and passion for learning. When I learned about Princeton Tutoring, I immediately connected with the company’s mission of offering high-quality tutoring, paying attention not only to outcomes, but building a solid foundation of learning habits and skills individualized to each student.

I have worked as a private tutor for many years, and am familiar with navigating the expectations of parents, while focusing on the best interests of the student. I view my role not simply as someone to boost grades and test scores, but a mentor and source of support. Over time, I’ve realized the ways I could have improved my own educational experiences, developing personalized learning techniques individualized to my strengths and senses. Even though I flew through high school with ease, I realized in college that I lacked a solid foundation for study skills and to focus on grasping the material rather than grades, not realizing that the proper learning process naturally leads to great outcomes. Nevertheless, I went through my own journey of studying for standardized tests and understanding techniques to achieve high performance on test day. In addition, through my over 7 years of experience with college admissions and college counseling, I have insights into helping students develop genuine and well-written personal statements and admissions essays. With my background in psychology and currently a therapist, I can also help students pick activities that truly reflect their values and interests, which will benefit them beyond their college years and help them navigate through their personal development.

I want to use my knowledge and skills to help other people and give them an educational experience that promotes the joy and science of learning, while also pursuing excellence. I want to work for a company who achieves high results, but also care deeply about the mental and intellectual development of children.
