Ashwin

Hi! My name is Ashwin, and I am an undergraduate at Princeton University from Marlton, NJ (yay South Jersey!). During high school, I spent time tutoring through my high school's National Honor Society tutoring program, but truly grew to love teaching and tutoring when I spent time volunteering at a school in Mumbai, India during the summer of my junior year. While at this school, I taught underprivileged urban students basic English language skills and worked individually with nearly 60 students to ensure mastery of these skills. This experience and the visible improvement that I witnessed in my students truly made me fall in love with teaching.

While I plan on majoring in Economics or in the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton, I highly enjoy tutoring math and helping students develop writing and language skills. My editing has been credited with enabling my friend's to score well on essays numerous times :). Beyond academics, I have been highly involved with music throughout my life. I am a classically trained vocalist and pianist and sang in honors choirs throughout high school. While at Princeton, I hope to further this passion of mine by also obtaining a certificate in Vocal Performance. After graduation at Princeton, I hope to attend law school or to work in a non-profit/international development organization.
