Hello! My name is Angelina, but you can call me Angie. I have had the privilege of tutoring students aged 11-18, and I have also volunteered with younger children, which has broadened my experience in working with a diverse range of learners. What I find most rewarding about tutoring is the unique bond that forms between mentor and mentee. Beyond simply teaching, I enjoy learning about my students’ individual interests and personalities, which helps us build a positive, productive relationship. There is nothing more fulfilling than watching a student have that “Ah-ha!” moment when they grasp a concept they have been struggling with.
I am particularly comfortable tutoring subjects related to math, from Pre-Algebra through Calculus I. In addition, I have strong skills in English, including Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, and Writing. Outside of academics, I have been an avid wrestler for over a decade, competing in local, state, and national tournaments. Wrestling has taught me resilience and discipline, qualities that I also bring into my tutoring style. I continue to wrestle at the college level, and I enjoy other activities like badminton, rollerblading, and weightlifting/fitness as well.
Looking ahead, I aspire to become a family pediatrician. While I am still exploring whether I want to pursue a purely clinical path or combine clinical work with research, I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.
