Aneesha

My name is Aneesha Manocha and I’m an undergraduate at Princeton, majoring in Electrical & Computer Engineering and minoring in Sustainable Energy, Environmental Studies, and Statistics & Machine Learning. I conduct research in macro-energy system modeling and am particularly interested in continuing my research in graduate school to understand long-term decarbonization pathways and low-carbon futures. At Princeton, I am the President of the Princeton University Energy Association, publicity chair of VTone (an acapella group), and member of the Women’s Club Basketball team. In high school, I was the captain of the Varsity Women’s Basketball team, captain of the Science Olympiad team, President of the Speech & Debate team, and member of the Varsity Tennis team. I am also a Udall Scholar Honorable Mention, HMEI Environmental Scholar, BioGENEius Finalist, Stockholm Junior Water Prize State Winner, and NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Honorable Mention.

I’m strongest at tutoring all levels of math, statistics, ACT/SSAT testing, and chemistry. I am particularly interested in tutoring since I have enjoyed my numerous teaching experiences, from helping other students in my research lab learn various optimization modeling techniques, tutoring students in high school in math, watching elementary schoolers’ interests in environmental sciences peak after leading free summer camps, and helping teach Organic Chemistry to high school students at one of the top public schools in the country. These experiences have taught me about how students learn and how to best utilize various resources and methods to help progress the learning process. I also am interested in tutoring because I hope that teaching and educating younger generations will become a part of my career, and I hope to gain the experiences and better understand material to help tutor students.
