Andrew

A Biomedical Engineering and Applied Engineering Physics student at Cornell University, Andrew is a seasoned college counselor and STEM educator with deep experience tutoring everything from Algebra 1 through Calculus and Differential Equations, as well as Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Statistics, and Physics. A 35 ACT scorer with over two years of SAT/ACT tutoring experience with 1000+ hours; his students average a 4-point ACT and 250+ point SAT improvement. His test prep approach includes everything from content mastery and pacing strategy to targeted practice plans that turn weak spots into strengths.

For College advising, his mentoring relies on building a story from the ground up. Not just creating a passion project for the sake of it, but rather working with his students to develop a cohesive story that demonstrates who his students are and how they engage with the world. Under his mentorship, Andrew has helped students earn admission to UChicago, USC, UCLA, Cornell, and other top universities.

Andrew placed Top 3 in the International SensUs Biosensing competition. He also published chemistry research on microplastics detection and economics research on natural resource rents. As the team lead of a medical device and diagnostics team, he designed and built engineering solutions to real clinical problems like creatinine monitoring systems for kidney failure patients and ventilated trans-tibial prosthetic systems for low-income communities. These hands-on experiences are particularly valuable for students exploring career paths in Engineering, Pre-Med, and the physical sciences. Because Andrew uses these subjects daily in his rigorous Cornell coursework, he explains not just how to solve a problem, but why the method works.
