Ally

Hi there, I’m Ally! After graduating from Princeton, I completed Princeton’s Program for Teacher Preparation and taught high school English for several years. I have also taught creative writing and test prep courses, and tutored students in everything from English and college essay writing to the SAT/ACT to A.P. U.S. History. I know that great teaching requires more than just an understanding of the material– I build relationships with students and make sure they are invested in what we are learning.

I have taught in many corners of the country: Trenton, a small town in Mississippi, and in Oakland, California. Though I have moved around a lot, one thing has stayed the same: a love of reading and writing. Now, I am a freelance journalist and tutor based in Berkeley, California. Back at Princeton, I competed in cross country and track and field, and continue to enjoy distance running today. I look forward to connecting!
