Garrett attended public schools in South Dakota before attending Harvard University where he earned a degree in Government and Education Studies. There, he worked as a peer advisor, theater educator, and mentor for Cambridge-area students before graduating. He then enrolled in Teachers College at Columbia University to earn his Masters degree in the teaching of Social Studies and currently holds his professional license in that field from New York State. He has years of experience teaching and tutoring in social studies, mathematics, science, and English language and has worked with students from 2nd to 12th grade. Garrett can provide tutoring support in the following subjects: test prep (SAT/ACT), APUSH, AP World, and AP Geo.
Outside of work, he enjoys living in New York City with his wife and his cat. Hobbies include cooking, baking, outdoor life, reading (history and fantasy in rotation), and board game nights with friends.
