Valeria

I have spent several years building a rewarding tutoring career and thoroughly enjoying my development as an instructor. Drawing on my well-rounded educational background, I have taught subjects across the humanities, sciences, mathematics, and college entrance exam preparation. The subjects I tutor include: test prep (SAT/ACT) Spanish (AP Language and Literature), English (AP Language and Literature), Sciences (AP Chemistry, AP Biology), Mathematics up to calculus (AP Calculus, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics), History/Social Sciences (AP US, European, and World History; AP Psychology, Government), and Music Theory.

I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania whose award-winning international research reflects my lifelong pursuit of academic excellence. My interdisciplinary background in medical sociology and comedy writing allows me to promote genuine intellectual curiosity and connect with students across subjects and backgrounds. In my sessions, I focus on upholding mutually-set expectations and curating individualized strategies through a relationship-based approach.

Over the past 8+ years that I have spent honing my teaching philosophy, I have always cherished the new perspective each student brings to their sessions!
