Matthew

Hi, I’m Matthew! I’m a Dartmouth graduate who currently works in Hollywood as a production assistant, reviewing and developing scripts for studios. I assist with college essays, test prep, and English, and I love helping students turn challenging material into opportunities for creative expression and growth. As a National Merit Semifinalist and a top scorer on the SAT, I know how to approach high-stakes exams with strategy and confidence, and I enjoy helping students develop those same skills.

I specialize in test preparation as well as reading and writing, helping students build the strategy, focus, and confidence to perform at their best. In English, I help students strengthen their writing, storytelling, and analytical skills. I also guide students through the college essay process, helping them craft authentic, compelling narratives for a wide range of schools. A few examples include UPenn, Yale, Georgetown, the UC system, Swarthmore, and even the Naval Academy! By focusing on communication and logical reasoning, I equip students with the skills to approach test preparation confidently, set and achieve goals effectively, and think critically in everyday situations.

Outside of tutoring, I love tackling the outdoors, a passion I developed growing up in Arizona as an Eagle Scout. I continue to write short stories, perform sketch comedy, and build upon my experiences abroad by speaking Italian with my family. I’m excited to bring both creativity and enthusiasm to my sessions, helping students grow as writers, thinkers, and storytellers.
