Hi – I’m Nate! I’m a graduate of Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education (Master’s in Education Policy & Statistics) and Cornell University (B.A. in Government & Philosophy), with a deep passion for teaching and educational equity. My journey in education began early – at 17, I was elected by over 57,000 voters to the Montgomery County Board of Education, where I helped shape policy and advocate for students.
Since then, I’ve worked across local and higher education systems, including at the State University of New York under Chancellor and former U.S. Secretary of Education John King. I’ve co-signed amicus briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court, written op-eds for The Washington Post, and received the National Action Network Youth Award alongside President Joe Biden for my work in civic engagement.
As a tutor, I bring both rigor and experience to my sessions, helping students strengthen their confidence and mastery in reading, writing, literature, U.S. history/government, statistics, and SAT/ACT verbal prep. My teaching experience spans elementary through high school, including as an Ignite Fellow with Teach For America.
Outside of tutoring, I love biking, creative writing, and exploring Ethiopian culture through jazz and home-brewed honey wine.
