Raymond

Throughout my experience as a tutor and teacher, I have always loved working together with students to find positive, productive ways to achieve their academic goals and dreams. I grew up in New Jersey and attended high school in Edison, where I worked hard to excel academically and was able to score in the 99th percentile on the SAT and several advanced subject exams. I attended Harvard College and concentrated in history, specifically American and global history, with a secondary concentration in English literature as well as a certificate in Latin American studies after studying abroad in Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil. After college, I attended the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where, in addition to receiving my law degree, I spent four semesters teaching undergraduates American history and classical political economy.

Since I started tutoring professionally while at Harvard, I have worked with students on the SAT, ACT, SSAT, and a variety of other college and secondary school entrance exams, in addition to helping students with college essays and other application materials. I have also provided individualized instruction in many disciplines, including English, history and other social sciences, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry, and physics. Regardless of the subject, I focus on bringing a positive perspective and delivering constructive, effective guidance that is specific to each student and their learning style.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family (including my cats Dane and Embla), and I love being outside, especially running, hiking, and playing basketball.
