Since 2005, we have helped students improve their confidence and grades in Spanish, AP Spanish, and SAT II in Spanish. Our clients have even included other professionals in the field of education - teachers, Ivy League professors, and members of the Princeton University administration. Whether your child is struggling or simply looking for enrichment tutoring, our exceptional Spanish tutors will create a customized approach tailored specifically for your needs. After each session, you'll receive a detailed progress report to track your child's improvement (view a real recap from one of our Spanish tutoring sessions).
What Parents Say about Our Spanish Tutors
The mother of an 11th grader at Princeton Day School contacted us help her daughter improve with Spanish. She struggled with the end of Spanish 2 and requested a tutor to help review Spanish 2 as well as prepare for Spanish 3. The family had previously used another service but did not see any results in her grades.
We matched the daughter with Daniela, a politics major at Princeton University who is fluent in both Spanish and French and scored an 800 on the SAT Spanish Subject test. After several months together, the family wrote to us:
“Daniela is terrific. We hope to continue with her through the school year.”

Why Do Students Struggle with Spanish?
Compared to many other languages, Spanish pronunciation is not too difficult for English speakers. It also has consistent and straightforward grammar rules, and, due to a shared alphabet and phonetic spelling, is relatively easy to read and write. Nonetheless, the language has some unique properties that can make it a challenge for some students.
For one thing, Spanish verb tenses can be tricky to master. It’s common for learners to use the wrong one – as in “She has a swim” instead of “She’s having a swim.” Spanish is also a more heavily inflected language than English, which means that the endings of words often change according to context. And, Spanish “sounds” very fast to non-native ears, which can make listening comprehension difficult.
One of the best ways to improve speaking ability is to…practice speaking! However, many students don’t have much opportunity to speak Spanish outside of the classroom. And when they do, they may be hesitant to do so for fear of making grammatical mistakes or mispronouncing words.
Tutoring in a one-on-one setting puts the student at ease and facilitates more conversation. Students are encouraged to speak and to make mistakes. If possible, we like to conduct tutoring sessions entirely in Spanish.
Our stellar Spanish tutors have helped many students improve in class and grow comfortable with the language. Some of our tutors are native Spanish speakers or have studied in Spanish-speaking countries. Some have lived and researched in the jungles of Costa Rica, and have won multiple Spanish awards. Most importantly, all of them are enthusiastic about sharing their love of the language with others!
