Private European History Tutoring
Since 2005, we have helped students improve their confidence and grades in European history classes and prepare for the AP European History exam. Our clients have even included other professionals in the field of education - teachers, Ivy League professors, and members of the Princeton University administration. Whether your child is struggling or simply looking for enrichment tutoring, our exceptional history tutors will create a customized approach tailored specifically for your needs. After each session, you’ll receive a detailed progress report to track your child’s improvement (view a real recap from one of our European History tutoring sessions).
What Parents Say about Our European History Tutors
The mother of a 10th grader at Princeton High School contacted us to help her daughter with AP History. The student was scoring As in her class, but the subject matter did not play to her strengths. Additionally, she was very busy with sports. The daughter wanted somebody to help her effectively and efficiently prepare for the AP History test.
We matched the daughter with Chhaya, a biology major at Princeton University also in the Teacher Preparation Program. Chhaya had previously spent a bridge year in India where she was a full-time teacher in a village school for seven months. We also found the daughter tutors in other subjects as well.
“Dear Greg, Again, thank you so much for your help with E. Both tutors have been wonderful and helped her with AP History and the chemistry SAT Subject Test.”
The client was happy enough that she also later requested a tutor to help her daughter with the SAT.

Why Do Students Struggle with European History?
European history covers everything from the Renaissance to World Wars I and II to Darwin to Freud. And, because there is so much to cover, the pace in such classes is quite fast.
Many students struggle with organizing the huge amount of information, especially when it involves countries they may not be familiar with. With so many dates to remember, it can be hard to form a good chronological timeline of events. As a result, students might wind up writing about the wrong time period in association with certain exam questions. Some also find it challenging to grasp both the small, specific details, and the bigger picture that stitches everything together into a cause-and-effect relationship.
Doing well in European history requires more than just recall of dates and figures. Students must be able to critically read and analyze passages, and develop and defend their arguments in essay form. In European history, the document-based-questions (DBQ) and free-response questions tend to give students the most trouble.
Our tutors can help your child develop critical thinking and writing skills that will not only help them in European history, but many other subjects as well.
