WORK WITH A ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MATH EXPERT

Hi, I’m Richard.

What parents say about our Elementary School Math tutors

Our team includes award-winning Princeton University undergrads and Master’s/PhD graduates who are rigorously screened and are extremely effective at communicating the material.

A quick “case study”:

We were contacted by a family who wanted online math tutoring for their 2nd grader.

The student would be transitioning to a more advanced Montessori school, so the goal would be to get her caught up, help her with schoolwork, and move ahead if possible.

This would be the child’s first experience with a tutor. We matched the student with Richard, a Princeton University undergraduate majoring in psychology and minoring in theater, music theater, and creative writing. He has extensive experience working with younger students and developing specialized curricula for larger classes as well.

Here was the mothers’s feedback after a couple of sessions:

“I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how much we love working with Richard.

He is so great with Amelia. He makes learning enjoyable!

Thanks again for your recommendation and for helping us advance Amelia’s education.

We receive messages like these every week.

We regularly track progress

Progress reports are shared after every session so you always know what’s going on.

A Real-Life Example:

Student: Shaan
Tutor: Jackson
Subject(s): General Math – Elementary School
Date: 11/9
Time Tutored: 04:40 – 05:40
Next Scheduled Session: Fri, 11/16 4:30 PM

Material Covered:

Shaan worked on a couple of problems from his “Tuesday Math Challenge”, and then we worked through some of the questions on a different math worksheet. We discussed the visualization of decimals so that they can be effectively conceptualized and easier to multiply.

Additional Comments:

It was great to meet Shaan, and he was a joy to work with.

He was engaged throughout the session and impressively methodical with his work.

He had a good understanding of the material, and when he made mistakes he was very good about checking his work and fixing them.

Based on what I saw in this session, I think it will be important going forward that he remembers not to sacrifice his understanding of the concepts underlying a problem for the work of solving the problem.

I am looking forward to discussing that with him in our next sessions. Next time, we should be able to work on some other subjects as well.

I would love to hear any feedback that you may have, so please do not hesitate to reach out!

How is your child performing in Elementary School Math?

LEARN HOW WE CAN HELP

Addresses common student issues

A deep understanding of the subject matter allows us to personalize our approach.

Why is Elementary School Math important?

We work with a number of students in elementary school, usually third grade and up, who are already high performing and looking for enrichment tutoring.

It’s helpful for students who show an early aptitude for math to get a head start, because once they get to middle school, there will be competition for spots in honors classes or talented and gifted programs.

For those who are struggling, it’s important to address any issues sooner rather than later.

Why do some students struggle with Elementary School Math?

Not everybody is naturally good at math. And that’s okay! However, we want to nip any issues in the bud to make life easier in the long run, but also to ensure that students have a healthy relationship with the subject.
