We first discussed the general strategy of AP Euro prep. The most important are a term sheet (which D's teacher is helping the students compile) and a timeline, divided into political, economic, and social and cultural categories.
Next, we looked at a specific topic that D is working on now: Did Robespierre help or hurt the goals of the French Revolution? We discussed content, organization, and the level of specificity necessary to earn a high mark.
Finally, I went through an old essay with D to explain what she does well and where she might improve. She had a good grasp of 18th century absolutist monarchies in Russia, Prussia, and France. She has room for improvement on crafting a good thesis statement for the opening and closing paragraphs.
